Policy for Plagiarism

American Journal of Business Science Philosophy evaluates each case of plagiarism individually. If plagiarism is identified by the editors, peer reviewers, or editorial staff at any stage before publication (including before or after acceptance, during editing, or at the page proof stage), we will inform the author(s). They will be asked to either rewrite the text or quote the text exactly and cite the original source.

Plagiarism can manifest in two forms: Firstly, when authors intentionally copy someone else's work and present it as their own. Secondly, when authors reuse their own previously published material, either in whole or in part, without proper citation. This practice is also known as "self-plagiarism" or "duplicate publication."

In cases where the plagiarism is extensive, meaning at least 20% of the original submission is plagiarized, the article may be rejected. Additionally, the author's institution or employer may be notified of the plagiarism.

Plagiarism checks are conducted as follows:

1. After Submission: Every manuscript submitted to any journal published by the American Journal of Business Science Philosophy undergoes a plagiarism check after submission, prior to being sent to an editor for editorial review.

2. Plagiarism Detection Software: The American Journal of Business Science Philosophy employs PlagScan Software and Turnitin to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts. PlagScan is a browser-based web service that verifies document authenticity.

3. Limitations in Plagiarism Check: In some cases, manuscripts may not be freely accessible to article indexing services due to restrictions imposed by programmers, journals, or publishers. Additionally, if a manuscript is available on the journal's website but has not yet been indexed by article indexing services, plagiarism checks may not be feasible. Under such circumstances, the content of the manuscript being checked cannot be compared to the original manuscript, resulting in the inability to detect plagiarism.

4. Plagiarism Declaration: Every author submitting to the American Journal of Business Science Philosophy is required to complete a plagiarism-free statement. This declaration should be submitted alongside the manuscript, either through the Open Journal System (OJS) or by emailing it to editor@americanosp.com. Please download the plagiarism declaration form and include it with your submission.
